2010 ACADEMY TRAINING GROUPS
Program Description: Training groups are held over the summer months in preparation for the upcoming fall season. Each training group delivers high tempo weekly trainings that incorporate dynamic play, fitness and a series of skill sequences that enhance individual performance. The best part about playing hockey is doing it well. Prepare this summer for a positive playing experience this fall.
OUR PLEDGE: RUSH Field Hockey employs a highly motivated group of hockey specialists to ensure an optimum level of service in all Academy Training Groups.
1. COLLEGE TRAINING GROUP
For the college player and/or players entering college Fall 2010. This training group will focus on high level technical skills combined with a fitness component integrated into the curriculum. Ready yourself for the college season with this training group over the summer. Heavy emphasis devoted to competitive tempo training and skill acquisition. A rewarding hockey experience and a must for college players looking to advance their game for the fall. College Academy Training is open to ALL college level field players and GK’s. Pre-registration is required and on a first come, first serve basis. Court shoes and outdoor stick are compulsory.
Dates: There are 10 total training days for the college academy:
Training #1 – Tuesday, June 1
Training #2 – Tuesday, June 8
Training #3 – Sunday, June 13
Training #4 – Sunday, June 20
Training #5 – Sunday, June 27
Training #6 – Sunday, July 11
Training #7 – Sunday, July 18
Training #8 – Sunday, July 25
Training #9 – Sunday, August 1
Training #10 – Sunday, August 8
Time: All sessions are 9:00am to 10:30am
Cost: Minimum # of sessions for this training group is five. Pre-Registration Required. Pay per session is not available.
Option 1: Attend all 10 sessions for $475
Option 2: Choose any 7 sessions for $325
Option 3: Choose any 5 sessions for $250

2. ADVANCED PLACEMENT TRAINING GROUP (U19)
For the U19 high school player, grades 9-12. This training group provides a challenging environment that is focused on skill development and tempo training. All levels of players will benefit from this training group as we work to improve the basic and complex skill sets needed to succeed in hockey. The curriculum for this training group will focus around skill acquisition, fast hands, footwork, decision-making abilities and dynamic play. The training group format allows for individual attention and mentoring throughout the session. Get a running start on the competition! Advanced Placement Academy Training is open to ALL high school field players and GK’s. Court shoes and outdoor stick are compulsory. Limited Enrollment.
Dates: There are 7 total training days for AP Training Academy:
Training #1 – Friday, June 11
Training #2 – Friday, June 18
Training #3 – Friday, June 25
Training #4 – Friday, July 9
Training #5 – Friday, July 16
Training #6 – Friday, July 23
Training #7 – Friday, July 30
Time: All sessions are 3:30pm to 4:45pm

TRAVEL TEAM: All players enrolled in the U19 Advanced Placement (AP) Training Group are eligible for selection to the 2010 RUSH Travel Team(s). Selections for a RUSH Travel Team will be formed from the AP Training Group. Players may choose to be in this training group and choose not to be part of a Travel Team. The RUSH Travel Team will compete in a variety of hockey tournaments including the Field Hockey Festival in November. Advanced Placement Training is open to all players. Please note your interest for Travel Team selection on the registration form.
