FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)...

1. How do we sign up?

Go to the registration tab on this website.

2. How much will it cost?

Programs vary, click here for the various program descriptions.

3. Does RUSH provide equipment?

No. We will provide field hockey balls to be used during the training sessions.

4. What do we need to bring?

Field Players: Your stick, shin guards, mouthpiece, turf shoes or tennis shoes (no cleats),water, and sun screen.

GK's: Full equipment, turf shoes or tennis shoes, mouthguard.

5. If I am a returning player.... Do I really need to send in all those forms every time I sign up?

No. You do not need to send in duplicate forms (liability waiver, medical questionnaire, and photo waiver) within a calendar year.

Although, we do expect you to be responsible and update us with any changes that we need to be aware of.

6. Are there scholarships available?

Yes. There are a limited number of scholarships available. For more information click here: scholarships.

7. Are we allowed to wear our school attire (colors etc.)?

We prefer that school attire be avoided if possible. Our goal is to create a playing atmosphere of unity.

8. How do I make the RUSH Festival (Travel ) Team?

All member players are eligible to make the RUSH Travel Team that will participate together at the National Festival Tournament in November. Selections will be based on game play performance and evaluated each week for selection. Selection will be based on game play performance, position, athleticism, (speed and agility), stick skills, attitiude, as well as the ability to understand team concepts and strategies.

9. Am I guaranteed a spot in the RUSH program?

Not necessarily. Factors will include, enrollment numbers and coaching availability.

10. If I don’t attend a session, will I get my money back?

No.

11. What if I can’t make the sessions that I’ve signed up for?

..Make ups must be approved by the RUSH administrative team and are by special exception ONLY. Due to registration limitations in all our RUSH programs, "session jumping" is not permitted without prior consent.

12. Will RUSH also be taking a Travel Team to the Cal Cup Tournament in Moorpark, CA?

Yes, we are arranging for selected athletes to travel with the RUSH program to participate in two National Tournaments; Festival and Cal Cup. Those athletes will depend on selection throughout the RUSH program (see question 8). Otherwise, you will have to make arrangements on your own or with your local high school team.

13. Is RUSH replacing the Futures program?

No. This program is designed as a club system to enhance all field hockey programs in San Diego County , including Futures. RUSH sessions will not conflict with local Futures sessions.

14. What should I eat before the sessions?

Drink plenty of water at least a day before and the morning of the session.

Eat a nutritious breakfast. For example...a banana, orange juice, and ahigh quality cereal.
