FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)...
1. How do we sign up?
Go to the registration tab on this website.
2. How much will it cost?
The RUSH Individual Skills training will cost $250.00 per 5 clininc dates. There is also an annual, $15.00 Del Mar Sports Insurance fee. These sessions will be held on Monday nights.
Goal Keeper Skills will cost $250.00 per 5 clinic dates. There is also a one time, $15.00 Del Mar Sports Insurance fee. These sessions will be held on Monday nights.
The Team RUSH clinics will cost $175.00 per 5 clinic dates. There is also a one time, $15.00 Del Mar Sports Insurance fee. These will be held on Saturday nights. Goalkeepers may also attend these sessions.
3. Does RUSH provide equipment?
No. We will provide field hockey balls to be used during the training sessions.
4. What do we need to bring?
Field Players: Your stick, shin guards, mouthpiece, turf shoes or tennis shoes (no cleats),and water. Please, no school attire.
GK's: Full equipment, turf shoes or tennis shoes, mouthguard.
5. How long is the program?
There are multiple sessions from February through May 2007.
6. Are there scholarships available?
Yes. There are a limited number of scholarships available. For more information click here: scholarships.
7. Are we allowed to wear our school attire (colors etc.)?
No. We are a club program and not school affiliated. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of unity.
8. How do I make the RUSH (Travel ) Teams?
All member players are eligible to make the RUSH Travel Team that will participate together at the Cal Cup Tournament in Moorpark, CA.. Selection will be based on game play performance, position, athleticism, (speed and agility), stick skills, attitiude, as well as the ability to understand team concepts and strategies, these will be evaluated during training sessions. Try outs will be held during the month of February, during the training sessions. Final selection will be announced on the website at the end of February.
9. Am I guaranteed a spot in the RUSH program?
Not necessarily. Factors will include, enrollment numbers and coaching availability.
10. If I don’t attend a session, will I get my money back?
No.
11. What if I can’t make the sessions that I’ve been assigned to?
You will miss that training session – no make-ups.
12. Will RUSH also be taking a Travel Team to Festival?
Yes, we are arranging for selected athletes to travel with the RUSH program to participate in two National Tournaments; Festival and Cal Cup. Those athletes will depend on selection throughout the RUSH program (see question 8). Otherwise, you will have to make arrangements on your own or with your local high school team.
13. Is RUSH replacing the Futures program?
No. This program is designed as a club system to enhance all field hockey programs in San Diego County , including Futures. RUSH sessions will not conflict with local Futures sessions.
14. Do I have to be a member of USFHA?
YES.
15. What should I eat before the sessions?
Drink plenty of water at least a day before and the morning/day of the session. Eat nutritious meals for plenty of energy.
16. When and where will the Tournament team be posted?
The end of February. It will be posted on the website.
